Planting Joy Abstract

I had to title this one Planting Joy Abstract—and it just fits! 🎨🖌️🌼

But want to know how it actually started?! 👀

This is what I call my “desk paper.” I lay down a big sheet of newsprint on my desk and tape it down so it catches all the mess while I’m painting—saving my table and a lot of cleanup. 🙌🏼

But here’s the best part…when that paper starts to fill up, I pull it up and cut it into pieces, looking for the little bits of gold that often turn into art all on their own—or become part of something bigger. ✂️✨

Sometimes I scan it and use it as a background, and other times it ends up in collages. Either way, you better believe I’m not wasting a single bit of that goodness. 😄

I absolutely loved this piece and had so much fun working with it for this print. I added in some of those collaged yellow daisies, and it all came together in such a playful, joyful way. 🌼

I used to not be into abstract art, but man oh man, I really love it now. There’s so much freedom in it—and sometimes the very best pieces come from those happy, unexpected moments. 🎨✨
