Rest + Retreat

✨Rest + Retreat….Oh how I feel called to this more and more, which is why I named this entire collection “Rest + Retreat”!✨

Slowing down may be the hardest thing in the world to me, partly because I just love life and I love to do so many things!❤️

But even if that’s you too, we can still learn to be “at rest” even when we are busy creating and doing the things we love. Resting doesn’t mean you have to lay around and can’t do the things you love, it’s more the idea of letting go of the stress that usually accompanies busyness. And boy is that hard.

Whatever it looks like for you, bring “rest” into your days. That may be lingering longer with your coffee or with a child in your lap. It may be reading a few more chapters because you are enjoying it so much. It may also look like pushing through with things you must do, but inviting your mind to see the task differently and finding joy in whatever moment you find yourself in.

We can choose the stress and anxiety to rule, or we can lay it all down at the feet of Jesus and trust Him with it all. Trust Him with our joys, our sorrows, our stresses, and our successes. Worrying and fretting doesn’t add a day to our life, but instead it robs from us. Let’s put a stop to that. It’s time to lean back on Him and enjoy this one life He’s blessed us with here!
