"Simple Things": Ode to late summer ☀️

“And we reach those days where there’s more summer behind us than in front of us. There’s already a yearning for next summer, maybe to do all the things we didn’t check off on our bucket list.

Outside of all the water parks, events, camps, and parties, there are butterflies, counting tree rings, mushroom discovery, eating blackberries right off the vine.

The wonder of seeing a rosy maple moth, and taking in every marvelous detail.

Not rushing past the melodic song of the birds every morning, but lingering long enough to take in the lovely tune.

Chats around a crackling fire, lots of stories and laughs and one too many s’mores.

The gift of each day is there for us every 24 hours. So we live for the ordinary, and we linger, and we slow our pace, and we thank God for the simple things in our blessed life.”

The “Simple Things” print was inspired by my love of nature sketchbooks and thumbing through them any chance I get! I feel like the style of notes on a page with doodles is just so casual and inspiring, it needed to be a piece of actual art to see all season.
