A scripture card set focused on the beatitudes in Matthew 5:3-12.  as Jesus sat on the side of the mountain and began the sermon on the mount, he began with what we know as “the beatitudes”.  the people wanted to know how to be qualified for God’s kingdom.  Jesus taught them that god’s kingdom is much different than the world.  things that we place great importance on here on earth mean absolutely nothing in the kingdom of heaven.  wealth, status, popularity, and authority are meaningless in the kingdom of heaven.  yet we spend so much time concerned about these very things every single day.  we are consumed with pride, power, and the need to be liked.  but Jesus is looking for humility, sacrifice, and love.
