🎄Welcome to the “Prepare Him Room” Christmas Collection for 2025!🎄
I want to introduce this collection a little differently than usual, and I’d like to start by telling you what was going on in my life during the making of this collection. ❤️
At the time of writing this (early October), we have been on an almost two-year journey of trying to sell our house—and what a rollercoaster ride it has been. From getting our hopes up to things falling through, starting over again, finding a home we love, not being able to purchase until our home sells, finally having a buyer, and the process of getting to a closing date with this buyer taking seven months (so far)—all while the home of our dreams sits as we hope it’s still waiting for us when this is all over! 😅 It’s been a test of patience and every bit of emotional endurance I can muster up as I also continue to run a business, homeschool my children, and mother well through all the ups and downs.
I knew this Christmas season might look different for us. We usually decorate our house in mid-October for CBC photo shoots—and my kids look so forward to early decorating. It’s our special little thing, that we get to enjoy all the beauty before the rest of the world brings the hustle and bustle. 🤪
I sit writing this still not sure if we’ll be decorating our house (that’s currently under contract) or the home we so long to be in by Thanksgiving! My heart feels tired and ready for the big change—to start fresh at Christmastime feels so wonderful—but I also must continue to trust that God knows the timing of all things, and that He’s ultimately working all things for good. ❤️
This collection is all about preparing room for Jesus this Christmas—and it seems like we shouldn’t even have to say such a thing, right? Shouldn’t we all know by now that the whole purpose of Christmas is to celebrate the Savior of the world being born unto us?!
But none of us would like to admit that, despite our best efforts in the beginning, the rush enters the scene by December, and things that should not be a part of this Advent season quickly take the spotlight. There’s little room left to prepare for the coming of Immanuel, God with us. ✨
Friends, we must slow down. Our very souls need to savor Advent—the season of God incarnate coming into a stressed and burdened world, a world much like the one we experience today. We walk in the light of Jesus as He came many years ago, but the world still walks in darkness, unable to see the hope that is in Him.
If we don’t make room for Him, who will? If we don’t show the world a better way to celebrate and savor this time, who will?
I pray this Christmas is different for you, and I pray the same for me and my family. I pray for renewed strength instead of exhaustion. I pray for hope instead of despair. I pray for the comfort of peace to wrap its arms around us all. ❤️
